Muslim-Friendly and Halal Services at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo

1.Prayer Mat and Qibla Compass Rental

Muslim guests can request prayer mats and qibla compasses, which will be placed in their rooms in advance at no charge. Knowing that you don’t have to carry a prayer mat all the way to Japan should be a relief.

The hotel has plenty of prayer mats and compasses available so there is no limit to the number of objects you can request. However, the hotel staff kindly asks that guests express their requests when they book a room so that all the preparations can be made in advance.

2.Halal-Certified Cosmetics in the Room

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo proudly offers halal-certified cosmetics as part of its in-room amenity lineup. Muslim guests can use the Organic Halal VKSARA skin care series, which consists of a premium all-in-one serum, cleansing wash, and foam face wash.

The cosmetics series is made by Vy Krásný, an organic cosmetics brand based in Shizuoka. The region is home to Mt. Fuji, known for its high-quality, naturally-filtered fresh water.

The skincare items from the VKSARA series are crafted with utmost care using organic ingredients that help maintain healthy and smooth skin.

The VKSARA Cleansing Wash cream gently removes makeup while providing collagen, and contains Shizuoka green tea extract, known for its moisturizing effects, and catechin to aid in skin recovery. The VKSARA Foam Face Wash for deep cleansing also contains green tea extract.

After cleansing, finish with the VKSARA Premium All-in-One Serum, a collagen-booster product that functions as a toner, serum, emulsifier, eye cream, moisturizer, and massage cream. It is also suitable for sensitive skin.

Halal-certified organic cosmetics are still rare in Japan and only a few first-class hotels offer high-quality skin care items designed for Muslim guests.

3.Halal Food in Tokyo: Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo’s Restaurants

Muslim guests can enjoy halal-friendly Japanese cuisine at Ryotei Kinsui. Kinsui specializes in kaiseki, the pinnacle of Japanese cuisine, which consists of exquisite dishes showcasing seasonal ingredients.

The special halal-friendly kaiseki course meal offered at the restaurant is called The Akebono (28,000 yen)*.The menu uses premium halal-certified Japanese beef and halal-certified flour for the tempura dishes.

The course includes dishes made with flavorful vegetables from Kyoto; the soups are made using spring water from Kyoto’s Mt. Atago. The exquisite tempura made with shrimp, fish, and vegetables, and other delicate dishes are some of the finest examples of Japanese cuisine. This particular course even includes sushi made with boiled conger and vegetables. Dessert includes seasonal Japanese confectionery – beautiful wagashi sweets that taste as delightful as they look.

We kindly ask Muslim guests to understand that the halal-friendly kaiseki courses at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo are cooked in the same kitchen and with the same utensils as regular menus. Although the hotel restaurants themselves are not halal-certified, the staff will do their best to accommodate the guests’ needs.

The cuisine offered at Japanese Restaurant Miyuki, Mokushundo (stone-grilled cuisine), The Bistro (casual cusine), Il Teatro (Italian cuisine), and In-Room Dining can also be adapted upon request in order to fit the needs of Muslim travelers. Guests are encouraged to inform the hotel in advance of their preferred dining location.

Reservations for the halal-friendly kaiseki course must be made at least seven days in advance. Cancellations are accepted up to seven days in advance. Due to sourcing requirements for halal-certified meat, reservations are confirmed only after ingredient availability is verified.
