Le Ciel: The Splendid Executive Lounge at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is an urban oasis—a serene retreat in the heart of the Japanese metropolis where guests can fully unwind while enjoying the beauty of the changing seasons, exquisite cuisine, and the luxury of hot springs and premium spa treatments.

Our latest addition, the Executive Lounge “Le Ciel”, is a sophisticated space designed for guests seeking relaxation. Opened in the summer of 2024, this elegant lounge is exclusively available to guests staying in our suites.

Executive Lounge “Le Ciel”: Features and Services

The Executive Lounge “Le Ciel” boasts an elegant interior inspired by the “new heritage” concept cherished by Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo. Built on the historic site of Camellia Hill, where Yamagata Aritomo once established his residence and exquisite garden during the Meiji period (1868-1912), Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo has inherited a timeless aesthetic, seamlessly blending the past into a future defined by classic refinement.

Le Ciel’s stylish wooden interior is adorned with Japanese art and craftsmanship, including a double folding screen depicting natural scenery created by the renowned Kano school of painting. The lounge also features ten glass showcases displaying exquisite Japanese crafts such as lacquerware, Edo kiriko glass art, and ceramics, offering a glimpse into the richness of contemporary Japanese craftsmanship. The main area is highlighted by large windows, providing an excellent vantage point for viewing the garden.

Le Ciel offers a total of 43 seats, including nine terrace seats, as well as an eight-seat private room. The terrace seating allows guests to feel at one with the garden, particularly during the magic moments when the Tokyo Sea of Clouds envelops the area in mist.

The Executive Lounge is open from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and has its own dedicated reception. Suite guests* are exclusively able to check into the hotel right at the Executive Lounge, where they are welcome to stay as long as they wish. Le Ciel offers a more relaxed ambiance than our public spaces, making it ideal for those who wish to enjoy tranquil garden views, savor a light meal, or spend quality time with their family in a serene setting.

*The suite rooms at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo are the Prime Executive Suite (60 ㎡), the Prime Deluxe Garden Suite (83 ㎡), the Prime Premier Garden Suite (93 ㎡/ 138 ㎡), the Japanese Suite (83 ㎡), the Hideaway Garden Suite (93 ㎡), the View Bath Suite (93 ㎡), the Ambassador Suite (138 ㎡), the Presidential Suite (193 ㎡), the Royal Suite (193 ㎡), and the Imperial Suite (280 ㎡).

Light Meals and Dessert Menus Offered at Le Ciel

The lounge features a live kitchen and offers an exclusive selection of light meals that can only be enjoyed in this serene setting.

The Morning Light Meal menu, available from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., includes delights such as the cube croissant Kasane, a specialty of the executive lounge. This unique croissant is crafted with over one hundred layers of dough and made with premium fermented butter, offering a delicate texture. We recommend pairing it with our original Garden Honey, harvested from bees that gather nectar from the flowers in Chinzanso Garden. This honey, being offered to our guests for the first time as part of the morning menu, captures the essence of the changing seasons, with its aroma, color, and flavor shifting in harmony with the garden’s blooms.

The breakfast menu also features egg dishes freshly prepared by the chef in the live kitchen, alongside Danish pastries made with luxurious seasonal fruits. Guests can enjoy a variety of salads, cereals, yogurt, and sausages, accompanied by an extensive selection of soft drinks.

The Teatime menu, available between 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., is perfect for those seeking a light snack between lunch and dinner. It includes seasonal Danish pastries, canapés, sandwiches, quiche, and other savory delights. Guests can also indulge in sweet treats such as petit gateaux, cakes, jelly desserts, and more. In addition to soft drinks, the Teatime menu also has beer on offer.

The Evening Light Meal menu, which can be enjoyed between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., offers its own set of exquisite highlights. One must-try item is the cube croissant with truffles, available exclusively in the executive lounge. These savory treats pair perfectly with a glass of sparkling wine, making for an indulgent evening experience.

Another standout feature is the seasonal soups inspired by the seven distinct seasons of Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo. For example, in January and February, you might enjoy a red bell pepper cream soup reminiscent of the camellias for which Chinzanso Garden is renowned. In early spring, a chowder soup with soft pink hues evokes the cherry blossoms in full bloom. During the fresh greenery season of late April to May, a refreshing green pea soup might be on offer. As fireflies light up the garden, the menu could feature a delicate potato potage, followed by a white corn soup in the cool summer months. Autumn brings a rich mushroom cream soup, reflecting the flavors and colors of the season, while winter might offer a warming crab bisque. These soups, inspired by the garden’s ever-changing beauty, provide a delightful culinary journey through the seasons, enjoyed exclusively in the evening at Le Ciel.

The Evening Light Meal menu also includes seasonal stews, salads, prosciutto, cheese selections, quiche, and other light dishes. Guests can choose from a variety of beverages, including soft drinks, beer, and other alcoholic options.

With such a carefully curated selection of exclusive delights, expertly prepared by our skilled chefs, Le Ciel offers a truly unique gourmet experience in an elegant setting overlooking the garden’s timeless beauty.
